Panagbenga is an annual flower festival celebrated every February which takes place in Baguio City, Philippines. The term “Panagbenga” comes from a Kankanaey term meaning “season of blooming”. This festival reflects the history, traditions and values of Baguio and the Cordilleras. It lasts over a month long and flourishes through community spirit involvement.

Cordillerans showcase their creativity by building giant flower floats. These will be paraded on the streets of Baguio during the Grand Float Parade. Along with this is a lively, colorful, and cultural street dance performed by the locals, mostly students.

Grand Street Dance Parade

One of the most fun activities at Panagbenga Festival place that many people look forward to is the Grand Street Parade. Here the locals and revelers parade through the streets of Baguio wearing the most colorful costumes and some traditional clothes of the tribes in the north. What’s fun about this Panagbenga event is that you can’t resist dancing! The dance groups who participated here compete for cash prizes.

Grand Float Parade

Another most-awaited Panagbenga event is the Grand Float Parade. Tourists across the world really go to Baguio just to witness this world-class parade. You can see about more than 20 flower-covered floats going down Baguio’s main streets, sponsored by companies and local city organizations.
